Things happen. It just isn't pleasant.

“Hey guys, I’ve done a good recreation of daft punk’s rolling and scratching, have a listen!”

Puts needle of £800 Audio technica turntable on geogaddi side 4.

“Which is better huh? Ventolin or this?” :wink:

So, if it's to be believed, what do you guys think is ahead of BOC on the production line for Warp? What are we getting on vinyl before them?
Warning: This numerology post is not to be taken 2 seriously.

Well George Evelyn (Nightmares on wax) has released a new single called ‘imagineering’ That’s quite good, so I think a new album from him before hopefully BOC.

So I’ve been listening to a TON of YouTube conspiracy videos about ancient civilizations interacting with space faring life forms, and those forms basically being the “gods” of the old days. A lot of it is about our common religions today rewriting the stories of old to fit their monotheistic narratives for control of the minds, or essentially a memory wipe of these past events. I don’t believe most of it but it’s fun speculation.

In that regard a space based album could be less about a leaving a dead earth, but about previous ancient epics of star people visiting us, and it’s intertwining impact on human civilization ranging from technological developments to religion. More or less looking back to see the future, the past inside the present.

I think one of the biggest arguments in this favor is the Pioneer Plaque banner which looks quite pagan in design. A lot of the tracks on Societas are kind of that 60s and 70s Sun Ra type psychedelia, I think this kind of music works well with BOC in comparison to straight up campy space soundtracks like Queen's Flash Gordon album or John Williams from Star Wars

In terms of old civilisations and 70s psych, I HAVE to recommend an album by Jon Anderson (from prog rock band ‘yes’) called olias of sunhillow. It’s pretty trippy stuff and feels quite Tolkien esq. would of fitted right in with sociatas X.

Also I like the civilisation idea, maybe a BoC album of Egypt and UFO’s wouldn’t seem that mad given how they’ve surprised us before, I remember this quote “what were planning next, nobody will expect this from us” :D

If Geogaddi was their take on Revelations than the next could take from The Book of Enoch. There’s some bonkers stuff in there.

I guess we'll see if anything happens on the anniversary. It occurs a few days after Nala Sinephro's album drops on Sep third too.

No problem, more psych than prog, but if visual images are your thing, you can’t get much better the the tale of olias from sunhillow and his mighty moorglade! :}

Btw complet random fun fact : I really love playdead's game, especially inside. And i recently heard about their third game, wich is themed around space and extraterrestrial exploration.

It would be funny if both boc's album and playdead's where to release at the same time

those games are so amazing.

you might enjoy Heart of Darkness on PS1 if you liked those.

not nearly as dark, but good stuff.
