The band does its thing and will do it exactly how they feel it, they are not obligated to anything, nor anyone.

That has to be respected, and furthermore, all this speculation and shit might actually be something that they get to read once in a while and may jade, alter, block, shift stuff. What if their kids read the forum and ask Daddy about it...

Did Chagall invite the whole town to watch on his creations live on canvas? Did John Williams invite all the paupers of his town to come in and comment his every creative moves?

Today is fucked, the whole dynamic of the IDEALISTIC world village has been soiled with the venom of mankind.

We are NOT going to make it as a species, I truly wish we could, but the changes required for that are not happening because that venom has been percolating into everything we are... everything is judged, everything is pigeonholed, everything is obsessively challenged.

Creativity to happen now has to happen into an isolated silo almost, and yet the brothers truly are jacked into some reality.

Yes, some, because reality is highly subjective.

I am a nihilist I make no apologies for it, and yet, holy shit am I ever optimistic... but that is not enough.

Give 'em space, give 'em time, stop conjecturing, that is just creating expectations.

When it drops, it will drop.

If it never drops, then it will never drop.

Go on with your life, that is their message, carry with you what you already gained, create, fructify, multiply... be beautiful...

Anyway...

/off

I really don’t quite care about what nihilists have to say about anything lol

Anyways, who’s excited for some Boards of Canada speculation?! I know I am!!!

You're probably right, it's time to put an end to Twoism and bocpages. Farewell fire... </nihilist>

Farewell Fire is an interesting track, the way it fades off to silence and keeps going leaving this long gap. Except if you boost the levels, it's all still there, you just can't hear it normally. It's not my favourite thing they've done but it feels like the most relevant sometimes, with these long gaps between releases.

Can't help but imagine they're still there working on things we can't hear.

Jeez man, he was aggressive. If his hand was a fist when that blow struck, the paparazzi would probably count it as a punch.

Speaking about gaps and working on music.

What took you so long? And how new is the new record, anyway? Was getting Tomorrow's Harvest together a concentrated effort, a focused process, or are you recording all the time anytime and suddenly realised that there were no more loose ends that needed tying up?

Mike: It was more the latter. We’re always working on new material, all the time, and we had quite a singular vision for what this record should be. But back around 2006 we had taken some time out to concentrate on other projects for a while too, non-musical things. Later we built new expanded studio spaces, and so the process of wrapping up this record was interrupted from time to time.

Anyone know what "Sit and Wonder" is? I tried searching the forum/internet for any info but couldn't find anything. I found this on PPL's repertoire search. Image

EDIT: Side note, it is not actually 0:00. This is a placeholder for track length and happens often on PPL. Just in case anyone is wondering.

YouTube info:
Sit and Wonder · Bim Sherman
Across The Red Sea
℗ On-U Sound
Released on: 2015-06-01
Composer: J. Vincent

But this record originally is from 1982. The man sadly died in 2000.

No clue why this got mixed up in those databases.

You know, BOC aren't actually nihilists. It took me a long time to get that but no nihilist could write Sometimes following Tomorrow's Harvest. They even asked if we were ok for godsakes :P
Warning: This numerology post is not to be taken 2 seriously.

I feel ChrisRocked ®

So, unpopular opinions, even heated ones are met with a cold shoulder at best, snark and dismissal.

That all seems so nearsighted and clique-fueled.

heh.
Molest me not with this pocket calculator stuff.

You just came across aggressive Mag, that's all, we all do from time to time when we try to come to terms with our desperation to control ourselves while waiting for some breadcrumbs. The floundering fan is not a good look and we flip flop from excitement to blase nonchelance to chucking our toys out of the pram in minutes trying to keep a lid on it.
Because every single one of us is at different stages of that flip flop at any given time means that we are at odds with each other on here, when one gets angry another is optimistic and another is depressive. Don't take anything personally, not on a forum with people you don't know. And moreso, don't take the lack of BoC personally either, in general.
You could feel the bullshit

Context. You told us to go on with our lives and stop conjecture in a speculation topic and then are surprised of some well-intended backlash? Don't fret, no nihilist could force me to close bocpages.

Can we all just get along folks with need for disagreements or backlash?

@Fredd-E well intended backlash is something I haven't heard before I'll be honest :] . In my view, there is no such thing as well intended backlash.
Backlash is a widely displayed negative reaction to an event, I cannot see that be well intended.

Nihilism is an outlook on the world in both sociological and political avenues, it's not an outlook on wether the Scottish band boards of canada are going to release another album. With respect, it's possible your definitions could be slightly muddled.

Magrathea's post wasn't a complete dig at twoism, elements yes, but it could be just a way of saying "my mindset is makes this is all futile, feel free to disagree with me." And it happened to be said in a way that people found disgruntled and rant-ish.

Image

Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one!

There's nothing argumentative about a simple agree/disagree, so I hope this isn't taken as a dig at you Fred.
