It's been perpetually sad my entire life. Generations of suffering and trauma that I can't begin to describe or understand firsthand. I come from a Jewish familial background so I feel particularly resentful about organisations like the IDF, and I'm not a fan of stupid wars propelled by money and religion one way or the other.

The only thing sort of eclipsing my depressing feelings is zoomers finding out about this like it just started 8 months ago and setting up nonsensical camps at college campuses. I can combat that stupidity for a little while with a shred of humor, at least until they move on and it all fades back to the horror I've always known the "holy land" to be.
