First of all: i am absolutely sure that the uploads of the 17 year old poster are legitimate mixing desk recordings of the ATP event. The boy came into posession of the CD by coincidence, completely naive and innocent - you can see that if you read the whole conversation. Anyway, unfortunately, the voices of the hoax conspiracy theorists are much louder (!) in the reddit forum... In the end the poster was deterred and annoyed by the strong headwinds. I think we f***** it up ourself.
I posted the following yesterday and apparently the post has been removed (after being aggressively commented by some). I post it here again since I hope to find some more open-minded and less sceptic people in this forum:
I adjusted the levels of thr ATP-7 aka "Noatak" (?) recording a little bit - to get more fun out of the bedroom>phone recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10VGwCl ... sp=sharing
The transients are partly horrible sounding, perhaps too much compression overall - just a quick fix with headphones, I could not withstand. Hope you enjoy. Will try a better version when I'm in my studio.
At least it is: LOUDER!
how do people believe this hoax when the intro is so obviously incorrect pattern-wise compared to the real recordings of it (it's NOT about the compression or limiting it's literally the fact the last hihat in the pattern is supposed to be lower pitched)
even if you ignore audible audio composition & sound design (the snappiness of ATP-02 cannot possibly be so altered due to """room acoustics""") differences between the two, what are the odds some kid stumbles upon an MP3 CDr out of all things, allegedly given by boc (why would they give out a 125 track MP3 CDr instead of a regular audio CDr with less tracks), then out of ALL of these plays THREE which are all from the same liveshow and possible to remake by someone decent in sound design?
and what a coincidence that track 7 of the entire CD just so happens to be ATP-07
that's not all - OP on reddit said he doesn't know anything about boc, yet the first thing he brings up in the post is that the song he's listening to "has children's voices so it might be from hooper bay". doesn't know boc yet knows what hooper bay is? ok
and the most damning evidence to me, regardless of all that is one detail about how CDs work - OP clearly stated there is 125 tracks on this CDr which is simply impossible if you listen to his recordings - you can hear his CD player continously spin the CDr, which only happens with audio CDs and those contain a maximum of 99 tracks, not to mention those 99 tracks would have to fit within 80 minutes of audio. OP is lying and it's very damn clear. too bad because these are the best remakes of these tracks we've heard so far
