I'd absolutely love to be wrong, of course.

I recently contacted the author. In fact, this biography was not commissioned by the band or Warp. He did it for his employer, AllMusic, because the previous biography, among many others, no longer met their standards. He also clarified that there was no interview with BoC beforehand.

Spotify and some other streaming companies, through a partnership with AllMusic, automatically pick up these changes unless the artist overwrites it with their own bio.

Still, I think it's significant. By now I assume that Warp and/or BoC have been notified that their bio has been significantly changed on Spotify and others. I assume that someone related to HS has already seen us discussing it on this forum. I also reported it on BoC's Instagram a few days ago.

So why haven't they responded yet? My guess is that they are fine with the biography and don't feel the need to change it (yet). That feels like an indirect endorsement, doesn't it? #staypositive

The cover had a picture of a skull (lol) with a glaze of red and orange colors. The theme of the album revolved around a relatively unknown celeb from the 70s– I didn't know or recognize who he was, but he wore mustache and had dark brown hair. There was also a single that I could hear, and it sounded pretty generic. The release date for the album was end of March.

I hope the only thing that is true about this is the release date....... and maybe the mysterious mustached-man.

I cringe so hard every time a post like this comes up.
Sure you did, buddy!

Scro, why would I make up a dream like this? Lol

I agree it’s cringy to be dreaming about a band. I would never admit this to anyone accept for everyone on this forum. And dreaming about their album cover sporting a skull on the front is pretty fricking cringy too, so why would I make it up? Lolz

Had a dream about BoC years ago. It even had melody. Which was gone the moment I woke. It has something to do with water and what is happening beneath. It was rather a pleasant dream. Warm and bright.

I also have had a few dreams involving their music. Seems par for the course, given Gyroscope, no?

Belief without evidence is called?

Faith, at this point the positivism turns into sycophantic fandom and further degrades into religious nonsense. (Sorry, atheist here).

I ask this in seriousness, have we fallen this low? This thread is even more a wasteland of inept false hope than the original one.

So, on topic: Speculation: given how much the world has changed since TH, and how much of a shit show it has become in the last 24 months globally, I speculate that they are just burnt out, be it emotionally, creatively or any other reason they may have to have joined the fk it legion.

They were right tho:
The internet is evil

“The internet is becoming a wasteland, devoid of human interaction, as bots consume global bandwidth with malicious and worthless traffic.”

WATMM is gone, twoism is but the shadow of its former self, populated by die hards which will die claiming a new release is just around the corner!

So, I bid you all farewell, I wish you healthy endeavours, teach your brothers and sisters, kids and grandkids to learn to differentiate the electric dream from reality.

I hope they are still active but I don't think that becoming a band that exists to look at present day goings on and go "this, huh?" is what I'm particularly excited for them to do. They're not Black Mirror The Musical.

I do wonder about the AI creeping in on the bio and the upscaled videos though, if that was them or just Warp going low effort in its old age. I really think it could be either.

At this point the wait seems pointless. If they drop I’ll be very pleasantly surprised, but them going out quietly seems possible too.

Either way all I hope for is a clear sign on what they’re planning. We keep sustaining our hope on mere morsels of content, which looks insane to an outsider, because it kinda is. I feel like we might be on a similar trajectory to Daft Punk and their fans a few years ago. Our resistance to giving up hope is miraculous in a lot of ways. Mike, Marcus, MDG, David Koresh’s ghost, and other Hexagon Sun Affiliates, etc. I wonder if you’ll see this, along with this thread. Good god give us an actual reason to keep waiting. Not to sound impatient, please take your time, but the fandom has whiplash from you reposting a fan music video on Instagram. We always think it’ll be something brand new! In the words of Billy Pilgrim: “So it goes!”

Just let that sink in: "a new album is on its way"

We picked up similar signals throughout the years leading up to Tomorrow's Harvest.

I cannot stress it enough but MDG has proven to be a legitimate contact on several occasions. He has access to Boards of Canada's website and mail. Someone who got our Twoism forum involved with the ARG during the Tomorrow's Harvest viral campaign. Per request of the band and Warp. 8)

It has long since ceased to be a question of if LP5 comes, but when it comes. :!:

"I'll take Vaporware for $666, Alex"

It's been almost 3 years since that statement. It holds little weight.

And that’s where you’re wrong, I think. Firstly, MDG never stated a specific timeframe, just that a new album is on its way whether that be 2, 4, 6 or more years from then is not relevant. Something is coming. They’re not disbanded.

Secondly, the situation now is the same as with TH. The first rumors started late 2008 and that was also 5 years from 2013.

His statement, informing us that something new is being worked on, holds as much value in 2025 as in 2022.

Yeah. Part of me still is holding out hope. I just think there’s a pretty unanimous feeling that the current approach to waiting is dreadful. Maybe that’s their intention. Who knows. That’s the unfortunate thing, the lack of any substantial activity/confirmation since the MDG message nearly 3 years ago. There has been things like PIC posting the webloop and the additional content in the Dayvan Cowboy video, but nothing actually indicates their intent long term beyond that message.
