Yeah. Part of me still is holding out hope. I just think there’s a pretty unanimous feeling that the current approach to waiting is dreadful. Maybe that’s their intention. Who knows. That’s the unfortunate thing, the lack of any substantial activity/confirmation since the MDG message nearly 3 years ago. There has been things like PIC posting the webloop and the additional content in the Dayvan Cowboy video, but nothing actually indicates their intent long term beyond that message.

- Bleep newsletter: "No, we don't know when the new BoC album is coming", and "Maybe create a hexagonal altar and pray for their return." (source)
- Official BoC post on Threads: "follow here for future news and announcements etc." (source)

2024:
- BoC uploads Dayvan Cowboy (AI enhanced) to Instagram / YouTube, (source)
- PIC uploads studio quality ATP-06, (source)
- All the Old Tunes added to YouTube's copyright system on Warp's behalf, (source)
- BoC's profiles are all meta verified now,
- BoC swaps their boctransmission handle on X to boardsofcanada (source)
- Regular video reposts on their Instagram page (source)

2025:
- T-shirts are added to bandcamp for the first time ever (source)
- new biography on streaming (still not replaced by Warp/BoC, so I consider it approved) (source)

- Twoism 30th anniversary -> great opportunity for some new music or some retrospective bocset?

Great list Fredd-E. It is most definitely coming. I don't want to believe they are liars and keep us stringing along for nothing. However I do understand that people are tired of waiting.

If you are in the latter camp I would suggest you check the albums and artists featured on SxT. I like to think that the purpose of that mixtape is to give us something to dig through while the next release is completed. If you like any track they included in there, that is a starting point that spreads out to other albums, artists, labels, like fractals. I am and have always been with Fredd here. I have belief absolutely that something is coming and for reasons I can't really explain, I have a strong feeling BoC is the kind of band to inform us that they're finished for the foreseeable future, probably after an album releases. I just don't believe they'd go radio silent forever.

It would be wise to displace any hype or "waiting" for an album though. I did that all the way back in 2018 and shifted into "whatever happens happens" mode. It could be a while longer. Could be a couple years more, could be a couple days.

A theory came to me recently regarding the delayed timing of LP5, and I hope I’m wrong. I believe there may be a divergence of creative thinking emerging between the brothers. Each of them has a different artistic view on where they want to take the album. So much thought is put in to the core theme, and the way they make music requires each of them to have their own stamp on each track. If they are not in unison, the tracks go nowhere. I also think AI and the commoditization of their sound has impacted them, where they struggle to recreate that unique sound that imitators have started to come close to recreating. And with the confirmation from mdg going on three years it shows they are legitimately working on something but nothing has come of it.

I agree that nothing has come (yet) in terms of an actual physical product we can buy. But wouldn't it be great to be an insider and be able to know what has really happened since that 2022 MDG declaration? I think we could all be surprised.

Just for the record, the road to Tomorrow's Harvest had its first confirmation in July 2007, almost six years in advance of its release.

Yeah I'm sorry, this is quite a silly theory to me. Imitators have come close to recreating their sound with AI? Care to give an example?
Unless you can get under the hood and see the brothers' thoughts for yourself, there's nothing in your theory that suggests that in the three years post-mdg's statement, that nothing has come from it.

Apply this to Geogaddi. Or really any gap between their releases. If you tried to apply this logic, then we'd have no records from them
