This is based on nothing but me throwing speculation around and may be factually inaccurate in several ways

- Cosecha website is created for the TH campaign by Warp marketing
- TH releases, Boards begin work on new material / old releases
- Warp slowly lose relevance as a creative force over a number of years
- Boards become disgruntled with the label or get a heads up that the deal is coming up
- Boards delay releases until it's all gone through, because maybe some rights return to them per the contract / they don't want to release any more material under the current label regime
- Deal begins to happen
- Release comes off the back burner, website gets updated by Boards as a more tangible thing

Like I said all speculation, probably wrong in several ways but there's lots of reasons stuff could happen at any time based on business or creative stuff we can't see.

This response actually brings me joy

Soon we’ll be in our ritual sacrifice era of waiting, who knows maybe this fandom turning into a fullblown cult will give us LP5 and even LP6

MDG told us the NCD website has no relevance to BoC whatsoever.

So you guys have a mods forum where MDG posts stuff? And you're not even sharing? Is that why you think "nobody home" isn't related to LP5?...

I still wonder what this New Clear Dawn stuff is about. IIRC the DNS domain was registered with Hexagon Sun at some point, so while it might not be related to BoC, I wonder why would they pay to keep this website online for all these years.

Oh wait we have new info, or more so elaboration from MDG? I see. What else is tucked away in that forum from Mr. Emmdeegee? Maybe Fredde’s NDA theory is a bit more concrete than I thought ;)

Yes, there's a mod forum, not that uncommon. The newcleardawn website is just not related to the Boards of Canada project. It is a cool URL in any case, and that could be the reason that whoever registered it keeps it in their possession. If they don't, squatters will no doubt snatch it up.

I am a proponent of Occam's razor principle and thus regarding the “Nobody home...” change I think it simply means that this site no longer serves for what it once served in 2013. At most, it could herald the end of an era and perhaps in that way indirectly open the gate for a new album later this year (hopefully). There could also be a subtle nod to more dedicated fans, see for yourself:

Code: Select all
 /// -. --- -... --- -.. -.-- / .... --- -- . .-.-.- .-.-.- .-.-.-
----- / ------ / ------ / XXXXXX / ------ / ------

This gives me two insights:
  • What was here prior to this message is over now: nobody home
  • Morse code is kinda visually similar to what once was the theme in 2013
I for one am still convinced that we are going to get a new album and that mainly based on, among other things, the recent 36 likes on Instagram where they focused on confirmation of new music. This I think is a much better and more concrete reason to believe new music is coming. :!:

No doubt the IMPEL acquisition could've some (major) impact on the above. At the very least, such business processes often cause the potential delays. Let's hope they ironed out the devil in the details.
