What kind of moderation should Twoism.org adopt?

Dear Twoism members,

Since its beginning, Twoism has been a space where people come together through a shared love for Boards of Canada and related topics. Over the years, this forum has always embraced a wide range of conversations, sometimes sharp, sometimes philosophical, sometimes deeply personal.

But times change, and so does the internet. That’s why we'd like to hear from you: how should Twoism approach moderation in the future? There’s no right or wrong answer, this is an opportunity to reflect together on what we want this community to be, and how we interact with one another.

Please take a moment to vote in the poll. Your input will help us shape the future of Twoism in a way that reflects the values of its members.

Help we’re fighting,

The Dookster wrote:The most bizarre part about the cosecha site is that the message on it is literally the only content on the website. There isn’t even any HTML on the page at all, meaning that someone definitely had to go out of their way to make it the way that it is. Even trying to save the page on my web browser is odd because it tried to save it as an MS-DOS COM file. In other words, my browser confused the page as being a file rather than a weblink. It would be one thing if the “Nobody home…” message was there on its own, but having a duplicate of it written in Morse code seems out of place if it’s something only meant to be taken at face value. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but I kinda have a feeling that it has more significance.

Yeah, because all https requests to cosecha-transmisiones.com always return just the plain text.

It seems to behave almost as a web API. Maybe with the right request we could get the "correct" response?

Skyraider wrote:Sure, it COULD, but. . . Someone went to the trouble to prepare and publish a change to a website that has sat untouched for a decade in order to inform BoC’s fanbase that their longstanding hopes for a new release are in vain, and instead of a clear unambiguous statement (which would have required zero additional effort) they posted a vague message subject to all sorts of interpretation?

Doesn’t make sense to me.

One could say that if this cosecha-transmisiones.com change was the only signal since 2022, it would have been a different story. But that's simply not the case.

Everything below shows the opposite of a band in downfall.
  • 2022 | mdg | a new album is on its way
  • 2023 | threads | follow us for future news and announcement
  • 2023 | bleep newsletter | we don't know when the new album is coming (when vs if)
  • 2024 | instagram | increased video posting -> a lot of followers gained (33K -> 65K)
  • 2025 | instagram | 36 likes from march 8th until april 20th (7 days of likes spread over 6 weeks)
Seeya later...

Logged back in for the first time in what feels like years - glad to see there's some rumblings again. I first saw the website update on Reddit and figured something would be bubbling over here. Had to get caught up on the ~20 pages of this new thread, haha.

Intriguing news about WARP, too. 2025, will you be The Year?
There are a lot of different 'me's, you know. There's the mad me, when I get angry.

I was bored and tried nobody-home.com
It points to a blank "lander" page, with basic HTML headers in the source code. Whatever the URL path you use, it redirects you to the index page the same way cosecha-transmisiones.com does. Might "lander" be a reference to the Pioneer plaque?...
Checked the whois and the domain name was registered on the 24th of March 2025, the month when most of the Instagram likes happened.
Probably nothing relevant but quite intriguing nonetheless.

At first intriguing indeed, but Warp/BoC use Gandi and IONOS as domain registrar. This one Godaddy.

Sharing something funny without suggesting that any of it be seen as hints, symbols, or clues... Sorry to disappoint. Instead just an example of how you'll find such signs anywhere when you're watching for them.
I was walking when suddenly the words "Nobody's home, nobody's home" reminded me of something: the notes and cadence were from a tv commercial for "joke" answering machine messages ("Crazy Calls"-Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, First Movement). I was amused enough that I looked for sheet music so I could share a pic here. In the arbitrary website I landed on was a passage that felt doubly coincidental... Weird...
[...]Beethoven's Fifth has come to represent Classical Music and modern Western Culture in general. [It] was used by the allies in WWII as a symbol of victory, since the opening 'da-da-da-dum' rhythm happens to translate as the letter 'V' in Morse Code. Thanks to Carl Sagan, Otto Klemperer's recording of the first movement is spiraling ever further away from us in outer space on board the Voyager spacecraft's Golden Records.

(As for constructive ideas, I have long wondered whether the fanfare opening Gemini (roughly six seconds) was put there as a cueing device. As in: hit play -on what?- just as the fanfare fades. Perhaps allowing different sequences of the album to align with one another and reveal a buried treasure!!! Needless to say, I've tried listening to more than a few doubled versions of TH without so far cracking through. I'll keep these thoughts over on an appropriate TH thread. Maybe just a further example of the tempation/problem of imagining hidden puzzles, codes, and keys. Tomorrow, tomorrow, you'll still be a day away...)
Golden Hour describes the quality of light while the sun is between six degrees above the horizon and six degrees beyond

might be a relevant quote from MDG in 2015

MDG: "Hello everyone, yeah sorry to say this is meaningless. The string of characters you are looking into is a random string designed to avoid spammers. There's no ARG. BOC will have a new site up at some point with news of what they're doing."

It seems like mdg spoke up because people were posting domain and source code information, and it wasn't even relevant

Well I doubt they did it for no reason. I think it’s more likely they did this as a soft launch for the new album. I don’t think it’s likely they did this as a middle finger to fans, and I don’t think it’s likely that they’re doing this to somehow announce a continuation of their absence. They’ve been absent for over a decade and that required no announcements at all, so there’s no reason to suddenly proclaim that they’re not around through a website stunt.

I like to think this hints to the space concept- maybe the album is about humans leaving earth behind to find a new place in the cosmos. Maybe it’s about the pioneer floating through space endlessly only to make contact with no life- nobody home. It’s fun to think about, even if I’m completely wrong I think there’s still something to the website change pertaining to a new release.

Someone here said that it resembles an msdos Prompt or something- does that mean someone could do something with it in dos?

Home by noon - An anagram of Nobody home.

Noon of this year? As in.. Midway through the year. Noon is 12. Mid summer is June 21.

I'll put a bet on for a mid summer release/announcement.
