I did think it would be absolutely THE event for an announcement, new shirts, a special Warp celebration at the Barbican a week later, BoC giving a nice double tap to bocpages on the socials, it would have been perfect! Warp, you have missed a trick!

Chin up Rodders, this time next year, we'll be millionaires.

It's totally fair to make new t shirts when the alternative is people get snide ones printed up and then that's money lost that the band never see.

But it's also a really good way of getting fans walking around putting "Boards of Canada" into people's consciousness before a record drops ...

I’ll say it again. Warp needs BoC more than BoC need warp. There’s no new music coming. They clearly have another form of income and aren’t money oriented.

Go home now folks. You’re knocking but nobody’s home.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, but in hindsight new BoC is probably too big a deal to be announced as part of another event.

Non-British people will be totally mystified by that Del Boy reference!

There’s a post like this every other day and I’m growing sort of sick of it. A new album was announced by MDG 3 years ago. All there is to do now is wait

I truly believe that marketing negotiations for LP5 happened quite a while ago. This batch of merch suggests to me that perhaps BoC have gone over budget with LP5. I assume Warp would have a flat rate they offer artists to promote their work, but artists could do other things to increase that budget. There's touring, which we know BoC don't do, merch seems like the more obvious one for them. BoC like merch, they even did kaleidoscopes at one point. I think there will be more merch following the launch of LP5, but this first batch is to help fund the marketing campaign... So... Decent sized campaign perhaps? :)

HarryNutsack.....

Why? Just why?

Lol.

Well, the name is fitting anyway..

My initial thought was maybe this is actually one of the bro's trolling us, or a Warp employee making a pathetic attempt to throw us off.

Nice!

Good to see there were some BoC items of interest after all at the Warp Happening :]

Could MDG confirm if there is another album or not cos I’m beginning to wonder if they’ve changed their minds. Please. Pretty please. Then at least we can all relax, put our feet up and wait patiently. Or is it being released once we’re all dead? To a new generation of new seeds?

Yours hopefully,

Mr Harry Nutsack

At this point, do we even require another dm/post from MDG? Since his 2022 confirmation, stuff happened on BoC's official public profiles that definitely hint at future music. Those public profiles have far more visibility and far more authority. In terms of credibility this is telling. Don't get me wrong I'd love another MDG message, but I don't think he can tell us more than we already know.

I don't understand how anyone can still be in doubt after the official BoC account highlighted no fewer than 38 very particular comments. All of these comments relate to new music. It is ludicrous to think this has been done to pester the BoC fandom, regardless who operates the account. The people who operate BoC's Instagram know what they're doing.

I suspect that BoC is doing everything possible, taking into account the restrictions imposed by the marketing plan for LP5. It seems logical to me that they can't reveal anything about this. It was exactly the same in 2013 with the whole TH ARG. Obviously they knew what was about to happen starting on Record Store Day, but they were silent about it not to spoil it for everyone.

I'm still positively looking forward to LP5 and I've a feeling most of you do the same.

Unseen "Reach For The Dead" footage, also from the Warp Barbican event.
