I mean yes the significance of the particular error code thrown is absolutely meaningless to a new release.

Literally all we know is, something is going on with that server, and it might be in preparation for a new boards related site.

But URLs are like Google maps directions to a particular place. It's like Cosecha used to point to a place where there was a shop run by warp, selling boards news. A while ago we noticed the windows of the long closed shop were whitewashed and somebody had written "nobody home" on the inside with a finger. We don't know if warp are doing it up for a new boards shop, or one of their other artists, or they've sold it on and the place has been bought and is gonna reopen as a nail bar.

We're just following outdated sat nav directions and talking about how our keys don't work in the door any more. It's not NOTHING, but it might not be anything we're interested in

God, you can leave the tech business but the urge to describe things with bad analogies never goes away :)

Roll on the next anniversary date anyway!

I'm so accustomed to thinking nothing major is ever about to happen but, damn.. I'm a little on the edge of my seat. This website could very well come online within days, I just don't see why they'd drag out the obvious pokes they're doing with the site updates being sent out, publicly, on a known url. This suggests that a new website of some kind exists, behind closed curtains, and they want us to see the curtains. They can't drag this specific thing out for months. They can nudge me, lead me on, and give me all the breadcrumbs, but please don't poke me, not for months on end. To take it offline now and then go radio silent would be even more cruel. It doesn't feel like more radio silence ahead, it feels like transmissions are on the horizon, finally. I've had years to prepare for new BoC, but I suddenly I don't feel prepared. I can't imagine how the bros must be feeling. If things really are imminent, like actually for real this time, then it kind of feels like they waited for the absolute furthest moment, and earliest moment in time that they possibly could. The time feels more right than it ever has. If it's finally about to happen, then I wish them the best.

Not necessarily meaningless when/if Warp is currently working on a new website related to a new album. This working may of course be accompanied by changes in error codes recently. I regard this as a possibly indirect way of proving that something new is coming.
Furthermore, we will see if it is Boards of Canada related or not. Doesn't seem entirely illogical to me with this domain name still under the management of Warp.
Either way: something is happening on this site.

I just mean the error codes thrown won't be something that you add the digits and it adds up to a release date. They're http status errors.

We know they're http status errors... And we know we don't need to add digits up... no one implied that.
We just notice movement on a familiar domain still under control by Warp. That's notable. That's all.
BoC related or not, it's worth keeping an eye on for the sole reason of the domain name.

Which literally translates as harvest-transmissions, so doubtful they'd use it for a new campaign unless the new album is called Tomorrow's Harvest 2.

Ha, funny. This could now be a test website. A playground of sorts. When it's finished, stuff could be moved to a brand new campaign domain, one that's related to a new album. One with a proper name.

The best explanation is that it's being used for something BoC related.

Do you think they're going to revamp the site for Farmers United Inc.?

As good a guess as any at this point.

It is a Friday and hasn't been a Friday since 2014 and 2008 before that.

15th August for announcement and 5th Sept for release my new guess

Both dates refer to old tunes

"The title has a double meaning. It's part of another fantasy journey that is going on in the journey that the album brings. In a superficial sense, the title sounds like something a pilot in a small plane would say. It's like a pilot finding a place to land and saying, "Okay, I'm going to loosen the speed of this small aircraft (This Bird) and land". But the meaning I really wanted to convey was that this world is in a very bad and dead-end state right now. This is true politically, technologically, and environmentally. So the title "This Bird" is really referring to this world."

Yeah :]... a political anniversary present for BOC - Trump Putin Ukraine meeting (15 August)...

That's very interesting, thank you...

Soon. How soon? Soon. So soon I've had to turn off the computer and wait to be called back. When you see me post again, it will be to talk about what just happened. Love you all!
